The Outpatient unit plays a vital role, providing health care for a rural population of 20,000 people. It has a pathology laboratory and also has an ambulance to take the sick to hospital in emergencies. The unit is open from 8:00 am until 3:00 pm. If people arrive after this time they will be looked after. The unit is staffed by 20 local professional staff members.
